This is one of my all time favorite ever landscape photos! I had heard about the beauty of Moraine Lake for years, but never thought I would get the opportunity to go and photograph it. Then, my husband and I made the decision to take a trip of a lifetime and go to Canada to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. I planned and planned was SO excited! It took all kinds of trouble to get there, including getting up at 3:30 a.m. to go battle for a spot at the parking area, and then a hike up to where the best photo opportunity was. We were surrounded by so many people with cameras on tripods, but that was OK, because the beauty showed off for all of us

This particular photo was taken mid morning when the breeze picked up and the water turned a beautiful milky blue. The cool thing is that as the light shifted, for a few minutes the water looked blue, and then it would look green! This shot is one of the "blue" moments! The trip of a lifetime became an incredible experience! I have taken mountain sunrise photos all over the Rocky Mountains, but this spot can't be beat. I captured the photo to save the moment and its view to share with you.
